‘She Dares To Say’ is an independent writing and audio project by Almaz Ohene exploring sexuality, intimacy, and cultural memory through essays, interviews, and experimental storytelling. It currently has an audience of approx. 900 subscribers.

‘She Dares To Say’ began in 2021 and has grown into a well-regarded archive of essays, interviews and transcripts that centre sexual honesty, marginalised voices and relational nuance. With Almaz’s signature blend of openness, rigour and care, the platform continues to challenge the cultural stigma around intimacy and invites the community into the conversation.

Season 4 (September 2025 – Present) features the following content strands published each calendar month:

  • ‘It Stuck With Me’ – poignant, tightly drawn vignettes that capture the moments that linger. These reflective pieces revisit episodes – small, strange or life-shaping – that remain etched in memory, unpacking why they’ve stayed with me.
  • ‘Considering My Crushes’ – a returning favourite: these essays dive into crushes on celebrities, fictional characters and public figures, weaving cultural critique with personal longing. A space where obsession, admiration, and projection are all welcome. Featuring guest essays by writers from Almaz’s creative community.
  • ‘Relationship Status: Unfiltered’ – a bold, yet gentle interview series speaking to people across the spectrum of romantic and sexual experience, from high school sweethearts and solo polyamorists, to swingers, co-parents, serial monogamists and asexual folk. Each conversation follows the same of questions, revealing what people really  think about love, commitment, dating and desire; from the inside of these relationships themselves.

Season 3 (October 2023 – February 2025) introduced a rotating schedule of bold, intimate content:

Earlier seasons established the project’s foundation:

  • Season 2 (February 2022 – March 2023): A series of audio extracts and transcripts from Almaz’s long-running sexuality interview project.
  • Season 1 (January 2021 – January 2022): A mix of personal essays by Almaz and guest contributors examining sexuality, diversity, and coloniality.

Note: Subscribers will need to upgrade to a paid subscription to gain access to the content beyond any paywalls and unrestricted access to the project’s full archive.
